I am definitely the type to try all kinds of DIY beauty recipes. My husband and son have become used to me appearing with various concoctions on my face or in my hair and don’t even bat an eye anymore. Usually they require multiple ingredients and time, but today I want to share an easy, one ingredient discovery I made.
I was out of lotion and my hands were feeling dry. In an attempt for some relief, I put olive oil from the pantry on them, and it worked quite well. In fact, though I still use lotion, I’ve started putting a couple drops of olive oil on my hands throughout the day.
To make it easier to apply, store a bit of olive oil in a serum dropper like the one pictured below, rather than trying to pour it out of the original container. I had more than one occasion where way too much came out.
I just put one or two drops on the tops of my hands and rub them together, avoiding my finger tips and palms because it makes them too oily to touch anything for a while.
I’ve found the olive oil keeps the skin on my hands moisturized while allowing me to use less of my costly lotion. If you try it, let me know how it works for you.
